I found the need for a meter while helping volunteering at church with running sound. I couldnt find an easier to use and workable tool to help! I liked the meter so much that I purchased the full app!

Just downloaded Audio Tool app to iPhone 5 running iOS 9.0.2. Spent better part of an hour trying to get it to work. Dead as a door nail, meter wouldnt budge no matter how loud the noise. And yes, it does have access to the microphone. Very disappointed, apparently a waste of money in spite of glowing reviews posted by others.

Stopped working please fix

I am a pro sound recordist for TV&Film, this app is the bomb. The only beef I have with it is that when I updated to iOS 9 the db meter wont work and the bit calculator is 1 digit off when calculating numbers into gb. (Something that will be 1.7gb will read as 17. Other than that, this is a wonderful little app.

Onscreen meters just wobble around, no decibels indicated on display.

The whole purpose for having the app is the decibel meter to measure relative noise output of network and server equipment along with noise suppression systems. The app is useless to me now and no updates since 2012. Same on iPad 3 and iPhone6 Plus, so not device specific issue. Nice app but abandoned, I fear.

iPhone 6 with iOS 9.0.2 - decibel meter is also dead as a door nail for me. Reason I bought the app. Wrote email and no response? Please update with a fix or will be asking App Store for refund.

A great tool until iOS 9. Now the dB meter doesnt work (iOS 9.0.2). Please fix.

This app is a total waste and RIP OFF ! It doesnt funtion at all. If a update was done for iOS 9.0 it could be as good as it used to be. Dont waste your money if you have an iOS 9.0 system phone !!!

Unfortunately, I also fell victim to the nonfunctioning decibel meter. It worked fine for about six months and then became completely unresponsive. Everything else is still working... So far.

A very good sound tool to help you measure very noisy areas, unfortunately it looks is not supported any more, it doesnt work with latest IOS. Became useless. Too bad

Prior to this complete overhaul it was one of the best sound tools available in the App Store and the only one I would recommend. Performance Audio, if you value these reviews and correct pore design and implementation by restoring the previous version with only the optimizations to support the latest hardware I will change my review back to 5 Stars, until then Im restoring the previous version from my backup and if anyone is reading this prior upgrading DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!

While this latest update at least fixes the SPL meter that apparently stopped working when I upgraded to iOS9, the app is still quite buggy on my iPhone 6. Maybe it’s just me, but it feels pretty far from stable. For example, if I go to the tone generator and then change some of the settings, make it generate a tone, I can’t seem to get the tone to stop unless I make some changes to the scope. Pressing the play/pause button doesn’t seem to do anything but lower the level a bit. Maybe there are 2 generators and I’m only stopping one of them? Just feels buggy to me. But the graphics are quite great! I look forward to it being 100% stable!

Updated because they released a fix hours after I wrote this review which addressed every complaint. Yay! Now it works great, although I find the interface confusing. An onboarding process would be nice so I know what Im looking at. Previous review: I just downloaded this to measure decibels and I cant get a reading at all. Its not registering any sound input. Totally useless. On top of that it crashes, its not optimized for retina or an iPhone 6 size screen, and the apps design shows that it hasnt even been touched since before iOS 7 came out. This is awful. Running iOS 9.0.2 on and iPhone 6s.

I use the tone generator all the time when trying to find the exact frequency of modes in a room. What made you decide to make it less intuitive and more difficult to use with the latest version? The slider was great. Now I have to dial in frequencies a number at a time?? Also, pausing the tone once started doesnt seem to work. Not going to mess with it anymore now, but hope you get it fixed up. Always liked the app before.

Update: dB meter fixed on iOS 9! Great for what it does. I advise turning off the nausea-inducing rotation though.

First off I think the old user interface was better and more intuitive and had a better analog feel. The app crashes she using the tempo pro and also the tone generator is buggy not smooth when adjusting the tone and the tone wont pause or stop after its started.... FAIL.....

What was a very good tool with intuitive interface, now is very buggy and has added stop/play buttons for more steps to go through. The sine wave tone generator only works intermittently, there is a delay when "X"-ing out of a screen (also a new added step), and my iPhone 5s gets hotter than a mother and will drop the battery from 100% to 70% in about 10 minutes of "trying" to use the tool. Im on iOS 9.0. Do not purchase this tool if you are looking - it used to be great, then they updated it to what is now an alpha version - worthless garbage.
